Initial Assessment Consultations
Initial assessment consultations are led by Dr. Ballantyne and occur in-person at our clinic. Initial assessments typically take 45-75 minutes depending on the complexity of the problem(s). This appointment is primarily a discussion but Dr. Ballantyne will be observing your pet throughout and may perform a physical examination on your pet.
Any recommended medications, additional diagnostics, and training equipment will carry an additional fee.
At the end of the appointment, you will have a better understanding of the issues and a path to help you move forward. You will receive a written copy of recommendations via email. If Dr. Ballantyne prescribes any medications to your pet, you will have the option to fill it through our online pharmacy or receive a written prescription.
Following the initial assessment, we are available via email if you have questions, need to clarify treatment recommendations, or want to provide progress reports. If an adjustment to the recommended treatment plan is needed, this can take place via a telemedicine or in-person recheck evaluation with Dr. Ballantyne.
