Our Process
Step 1. Schedule an Intake Assessment with one of our specially trained behavior consultants
This first appointment is held virtually over Zoom and allows our team to gain a thorough understanding of the issues your dog or cat is struggling with. Prior to this appointment, you will fill out our detailed behavior questionnaire and have your primary care veterinarian send us your pet's records. During this one hour appointment, you will discuss your primary concerns in depth with one of our behavior consultants. They will offer management suggestions to assist you until your Veterinary Behavior Evaluation.
Intake Assessment: 1 hour
Cost: $180 (this cost does NOT include additional products, services, or appointments)
Step 2. Schedule a Veterinary Behavior Evaluation
This appointment is held in-person at our clinic with one of our veterinarians. They will incorporate the information obtained during the intake appointment with this veterinary behavior evaluation, which includes review of your pet's medical history, observation of your pet's behavior, a physical examination (if safe to perform), and diagnostic plan. Next, they'll review your pet's diagnosis and prognosis with you and work with you to set up a treatment plan to help you reach your goals.
Veterinary Behavior Evaluation: 1 hour
Cost: $475 (Any recommended medications, diagnostics, or appointments will carry an additional fee)
Following this evaluation, most clients schedule training sessions for one-on-one support to implement the treatment plan.
Step 3. Schedule on-going support with our team as a Returning Patient
Training Sessions
Training sessions are conducted by one of our specially trained behavior consultants. They are held via video conference (Zoom) or in your home or yard if you are within our travel radius. While many complex behavior problems cannot be cured, there are many approaches we can take to make unwanted behaviors less frequent and less intense. Our goal is to both address your pet’s unwanted behaviors (to solve your problems) and the emotional responses driving those behaviors (to solve their problems). Through sessions and remote support, our behavior consultants will coach you on how to use the recommended behavior modification and training techniques safely and effectively, while assuring that your pet’s needs for exercise, enrichment, and mental stimulation are being met.
Training Sessions: 45 minutes
Each appointment includes 2 weeks of email, text and video support
Cost:
Virtual training session: $130
House-call training session with Drew: $195
Follow-up Consultations
Follow-up Consultations are held with the Insight vet that conducted your pet’s Veterinary Behavior Evaluation. They may be conducted in-person or over video conference or phone. These appointments allow our vets to evaluate your dog or cat’s response to the treatment plan and adjust accordingly for continued progress. Follow up evaluations are typically scheduled every 3 months following the veterinary behavior evaluation early in the course of treatment to ensure continued progress towards your goals. Once your pet’s behavior has stabilized, follow up consultations should be scheduled every 6 months or management of your pet’s treatment and prescription medications can be transferred back to your primary care veterinarian.
Follow-up Consultation: 30 minutes
Cost: $225 (Option to add additional 15 minutes discussion time for $100)
