Prior to having your patient schedule with us, we recommend performing:

  • a physical examination

  • collecting a complete blood count, chemistry with SDMA, T4 and urinalysis (if safe to do so)

If these tests have been performed in the past 6 months and the behavioral issue PREDATES the last physical examination and diagnostics, these tests do not need to be repeated prior to their intake and veterinary behavior evaluation.

Vet to Vet Teleconsultations

This service is available to veterinarians around the world.

If you are a veterinarian that would like to discuss the use of medical therapy for one of your behavior patients, have a behavior patient that needs immediate triage, or would like to expand your behavior medicine skillset, contact us to schedule a Vet to Vet teleconsultation.


What’s included in the Vet to Vet teleconsultation:

Appointments are conducted by phone or Zoom video conferencing and will be held between the attending veterinarian and Dr. Ballantyne.

  • Appointments are 15-30 minutes and including a discussion of the case and review of treatment options which may include medications, safety and management strategies, or simple behavior modification techniques

  • Appointments can typically be scheduled within a week of the request, making this ideal for cases needing immediate triage

  • Vet to Vet teleconsultations do not include a written summary of treatment recommendations or evaluation of the patient records or videos outside of the consultation

  • There is no paperwork to complete prior to scheduling this consultation

Pricing

  • $125

  • The veterinary clinic or veterinarian will pay Insight Animal Behavior Services, P.C. the cost of the consultation online at the time of booking
