Veronica Garcia, RVT, KPA-CTP, FFCP-V

Veterinary Nurse

Veronica grew up in the northern suburbs of Chicago and earned a business degree from the University of Illinois in 2004 before beginning a career in employee benefits consulting. After moving to northern California, she discovered her passion for veterinary medicine and returned to school to become a Registered Veterinary Technician. Adopting her first dog, Toby—a maltipoo with diabetes and significant behavioral challenges—sparked her interest in veterinary behavior and positive reinforcement training.

Over the past decade, Veronica has built extensive experience in internal medicine and emergency and critical care (ECC), primarily as an ECC technician in fast-paced hospital environments. She has also served in leadership roles, helping develop high-performing veterinary teams.

After the COVID pandemic, she transitioned into veterinary behavior, pursuing every opportunity to deepen her knowledge of behavior science, pharmacology, and humane, evidence-based training. Veronica is a Certified Training Partner through the prestigious Karen Pryor Academy, a Level 3 Fear Free Certified Professional, and has completed advanced mentorship in supporting clients through complex behavior challenges.

She has a soft spot for the ‘littles’—dogs under 15 pounds—who often struggle in a big world, as well as for geriatric pets whose needs change with age. In her free time, Veronica enjoys reading, functional fitness, exploring local vegan eateries, and spending time with her partner and their two terriers, Preston and Sprite.
